In just a few weeks, you can experience the benefits of meditation in your life—inner peace, health, and spiritual awakening. Ananda is one of the oldest and largest centers for meditation training in the Bay Area. Thousands of people from every walk of life have learned to meditate in Ananda classes over the past fifty years. A multi-week class series is offered every other month on Wednesday evenings. Meditation is one of the most natural and rewarding of all human activities. It gives direct, intuitive experience of higher realities, and is the cornerstone of true spirituality. It also brings balance, rest, and a growing inner peace. While its highest and original purpose is to help us awaken our inner, spiritual nature, the benefits to body and mind are well established by medical research.
Meditation produces profound results on all levels of your being—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It connects you with your own inner powers of vitality, clarity, and love.
Learn to relax your body, quiet your mind, awaken intuition and experience greater joy and creativity in daily life. This course includes in-class practice, tips on establishing your practice at home, online guided meditations, written instructions, unlimited (no-charge) re-take policy, and ongoing support in-person or online. Meditation is for everyone and requires no outward affiliation or belief system. This class is open to all, and there are no prerequisites. Our instructors are dedicated, longtime meditators.

El taller “Como Integrar la Meditación en tu Vida Diaria” te mostrará como hacerlo. El mundo de hoy ofrece un sinfín de distracciones. Sin embargo, el éxito en cualquier cosa, desde la escuela, a los negocios, a las relaciones exige una capacidad de estar presente en el momento, y estar totalmente comprometidos con lo que se está haciendo. La meditación te ayudará a ganar claridad y fuerza.

Meet in the Teaching Center, the orange building behind the Temple
A refreshing mid-day meditation during your lunch hour. The meditation is guided by an experienced, long-time meditator, with a prayer, a short chant, and 20-25 minutes of sitting in silence. We’ll end with guided healing prayers. Everyone is welcome. Late comers: enter quietly if the meditation has already begun.
Wednesdays, 7:30–9 pm
Deepen your meditations with the support of a group. Wednesday evening meditation includes energization, prayer, chanting, meditation, and ends with healing prayers. The meditation is one hour; you may leave earlier if necessary. Come even if you have not learned Yogananda's Energization Exercises, and a staff member will support you and answer your questions. All levels of experience are welcome.
Sunday, 9–9:45 am
This meditation is accompanied by a fire ceremony, so it is only partially in silence. But you are welcome to come and meditate throughout, or participate as you wish.

Even if you registered ahead of time, please stop by the Teaching Center to sign in, so we can greet you and direct you to the right classroom. The Teaching Center is located just behind the large temple on El Camino. Enter the courtyard from College, and the building will be on your right. If it's your first time, you may appreciate having the Ananda grounds map handy.
