An evening of silent meditation in honor of Lahiri Mahasaya, the great householder yogi who brought the sacred science of Kriya Yoga to the world through his exemplary life and deep God-union. This gathering falls in the period between the anniversary of his birth (September 20, 1828) and his Mahasamadhi (September 26, 1895)—a time considered auspicious for attuning ourselves to his presence and guidance.
Draw inspiration from his humility, steadfast devotion, and the universal message that spiritual realization is possible for all—whether living in the world or in the hermitage of the soul. Short readings or inspiration about his life may be shared at the beginning, followed by extended periods of silent meditation.
You are welcome to join us for the full two hours, or for any portion of the evening. Whether you are a longtime devotee or simply wish to sit in a sacred atmosphere, your presence will add to the sacredness of this occasion. Enter and leave quietly.
“Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles. Meditate unceasingly, that you quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. Cease being a prisoner of the body; using the secret key of Kriya, learn to escape into Spirit.”
