Developing Deeper Attunement with the Guru

Whatever we attune ourselves to changes our consciousness. You can see how strongly we're affected by tuning in to the latest news, for example. Attuning to the Guru — or to any saint or Master — simply means making a positive conscious choice of who and what we are attuning ourselves to.

When we open our heart to the guru, he enters and takes charge of our life. Drawing his grace requires constant effort on our part to attune to his consciousness.

Deepening our attunement to the guru is a lifelong pursuit for every disciple. Without this attunement, we cannot discriminate our way out of delusion.

How do we deepen our attunement? What are the milestones that show us whether our spiritual practices are taking us progressively deeper? Nayaswami Devarshi will shed light on this topic, drawing from his decades of experience and wisdom as a disciple and Kriya Yoga teacher.

Nayaswami Devarshi serves as the head of the Ananda India Monastery and is a long-time teacher of meditation and Kriya Yoga. He has been a dedicated disciple on this path for nearly five decades, working closely with Swami Kriyananda and serving in many areas of Ananda. He embodies the ideals of simple living and high thinking with wisdom, humor, and a devotional nature.
