Sunday Service with Nayaswami Devarsh

  • Ananda Temple 2171 El Camino Real Palo Alto, CA United States (map)

Join us in person or watch online.

Sunday service: 10-11:30 am
Fire ceremony & meditation: 9 am

Sunday mornings at Ananda are joyful, music-filled, and thoughtful. There is often laughter, and sometimes heartfelt tears. Explore thoughtful answers to questions we all have about the meaning and purpose of our lives.

The morning talk is inspired by the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda (Autobiography of a Yogi) and his lifelong disciple, Swami Kriyananda. The morning begins with a short period of chanting and meditation, followed by readings from the Bhagavad Gita and Bible, a 30-minute sermon, and a ceremony afterward, called the Festival of Light. If you wish, you can also attend a fire ceremony and meditation beginning at 9am. The ceremony is guided so anyone may join.

Stay for refreshments in the Temple courtyard after service (ends at 11:30am) to meet with like-minded friends, old and new. All are welcome.

He has been a dedicated disciple for nearly five decades, working closely with Swami Kriyananda and serving in many areas of Ananda. He embodies the ideals of simple living and high thinking with wisdom, humor, and devotion.
