Techniques for conscious relaxation

  • Ananda Palo Alto 2171 El Camino Palo Alto (map)

Wednesday evenings, 6 weeks, 7-8:30pm
Cost $75

“Relaxation is the way to the Infinite,” Yogananda simply states. Mental and physical relaxation are critical components of a deep meditation practice, yet the bustle of daily life is ill-suited for the temperaments of calmness and relaxation that foster deep, inner stillness.

Using the tools and techniques that the great yogi avatars have given us, we can reverse that flow of outward tension caused by life's stressors and gain access to the life-force which holds the keys to our highest Self–the secret is conscious relaxation.

In this 6-week series, we will explore varied practices of conscious relaxation including: yoga postures, breathwork and pranayama, chanting, introspective journaling, walking meditation and energy & joy.

Each week will include a brief discussion on the topic, an experiential practice in conscious relaxation and a 20-minute meditation to end the evening. Join us for this deep dive into the essence of our true soul nature; as Swami Kriyananda writes: “It might be said that conscious relaxation is the straightest path to God.”

Teachers include: Bhwani Issacson, Saiganesh Sairaman, Keshava Betts, Biraj Palmer, Eric Monroe and Lakshmi LaPine.
