Swami Kriyananda’s Legacy: 100 Years of Discipleship

  • Ananda Temple 2171 El Camino Real Palo Alto United States (map)

Wednesdays, May 6-27, 7-8:30 pm
$20/class or $60/series
Drop-ins welcome; attending the whole series is recommended

As we mark the centennial of Swami Kriyananda’s birth (May 19, 1926), it is a natural time to reflect on the spirit of discipleship he lived and demonstrated throughout his life. From early childhood, Swamiji felt a clear inner call toward God. Before his birth, his mother prayed, “This child, Lord, I give to Thee.”

Asha Nayaswami served closely with Swamiji for many decades and received his personal guidance and training. She will share many stories about Swamiji to help us deeply explore:

  • How did this attitude of discipleship express in Swamiji’s daily life?

  • What does it mean to work with others, or be creative, and also have your primary inner driver be a dedication to God’s will?

  • How can we deepen this experience of discipleship in our own lives?

Contributing members of Ananda are welcome to join the class in-person free of cost.

Asha worked closely with Swami Kriyananda for many years. She was a founding member of Ananda Village for 16 years, and guided the development of Ananda Palo Alto, the 2nd largest of Ananda’s communities in the world today. When Asha is not in residence here, she teaches throughout the world, fulfilling Swamiji’s request that she serve as Ananda’s Global Ambassador. Her Instagram and YouTube posts have touched millions. See her website for upcoming lecture tours.
