Swamiji named Jyotish his spiritual successor; he assumed the role upon Swamiji’s passing in 2013.
Jyotish is warm, thoughtful, and wise—with a delightful sense of humor. He and his wife, Devi, travel widely, and have dedicated nearly 50 years to sharing inspiration and insight gained from a lifetime of dedication on the spiritual path. They serve as spiritual directors of Ananda’s activities worldwide.
Since the beginnings of Ananda, Swami gave Jyotish leadership responsibility for major aspect of Ananda’s work. He has been part of the development of nearly every aspect of Ananda, and has a wealth of practical wisdom—how to develop organizations, and especially how to develop people.
Jyotish is the author of How to Meditate, Lessons in Meditation, Thirty Day Essentials for Career, and Thirty Day Essentials for Marriage. He also is the creator of Meditation Therapy(TM). He and Devi are co-authors to the book “A Touch of Light: Living the Teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda,” a compilation of their weekly blog.
